A New Youth Engagement Program
Make Trax is Michigan's very own Safe Routes to School youth engagement curriculum. Dr. David Martin of Wayne State University's Center for Urban Studies worked closely with the Michigan Fitness Foundation to develop a model that may be used by any community or school to get students involved in civic research and action with a high-tech approach.
The Make Trax curriculum is a youth-led research project to collect, analyze and present information to increase walking and rolling to school. http://www.saferoutesmichigan.org/
The curriculum with accompanying CD will be mailed in to all schools registered for Safe Routes to School. For your copy and more information please contact Lee Kokinakis at the Michigan Fitness Foundation at ckokinakis@michiganfitness.org
